Elise Valmorbida

Elise Valmorbida grew up Italian in Australia,
and now lives in London. She is the author of acclaimed literary novels Matilde WaltzingThe 
TV President and The Winding Stick. An award-winning indie film producer, she wrote SAXON,
The Making of a Guerrilla Film.
Other non-fiction includes The Book of Happy Endings. Her “compulsively beautiful” new novel The Madonna of the Mountains (Faber, UK; Spiegel & Grau, USA) is The Times BOOK OF THE MONTH.


Elise teaches creative writing at Central Saint Martins and Arvon. She is founder-director of communications consultancy word-design, on the board of writers organisation 26, and former External Examiner for the MA in Professional Writing at Falmouth University. She is a member of English PEN and The Society of Authors. Her literary agent is Clare Alexander of Aitken Alexander Associates.
